GAIACOOLING
Recovered refrigerant · Netherlands

We collect your recovered refrigerant.

Installers are busy with their customers, not with the rules around recovered gas. We take that off your hands: collection by licensed carriers, the paperwork handled and the gas delivered to an accredited processor. Small or large: if it fits a route, we collect it.

  • No lot too small, as long as the route allows
  • Waste stream number and consignment note arranged
  • Clarity upfront for every lot, no surprises
How it works

From full cylinder to completed disposal in four steps.

  1. 01

    Tell us

Send a photo of the label and the weight, and tell us where it is. By WhatsApp, phone or the form.

  2. 02

    Each lot assessed

Gas type, purity, quantity and location set the price. You know where you stand upfront. We only schedule once you agree.

  3. 03

    Collection

A licensed carrier collects the cylinders with a consignment note. The recovery itself is always done by an F-gas certified technician.

  4. 04

    Wrap-up

The processor weighs and analyses the gas. You receive the statement and the paperwork for your records.

Why now

Recovered refrigerant gains value every year.

Europe allows less new refrigerant every year, but systems running older gases keep going and need servicing. For that, more and more often only reclaimed gas is allowed. The gas coming out of systems today is tomorrow's supply, provided it reaches a processor with the right paperwork.

  1. 2025

Topping up refrigeration equipment with virgin refrigerant with a GWP of 2500 or more is banned. Recycled or reclaimed refrigerant remains allowed until 2030.

  2. 2026

The same ban applies to air conditioning and heat pumps. Recycled or reclaimed refrigerant remains allowed there until 2032.

  3. 2027

The EU HFC quota is cut roughly in half. Reclaimed and recycled refrigerant sits outside the quota.

  4. 2032

Stationary refrigeration equipment, chillers excepted, may no longer be serviced with virgin refrigerant with a GWP of 750 or more. Recycled or reclaimed gas remains allowed.

Transparent

With the installer, not against them.

Honest about what's possible

Clean gas of one type in its own cylinder gets the best terms. We take mixtures too, but they can cost money. You always hear that upfront.

Routes, not one-off trips

We bundle collection addresses into routes. The more stops on a route, the lower the cost for everyone.

Accredited parties

Recovery by certified technicians, transport by licensed carriers, processing by accredited plants.

Who is behind it

New to collection. Not new to refrigerant.

Our team comes from the start of the chain. For years we have handled the import of refrigerant into Europe: more than 120 ISO containers of 18,000 to 25,000 kilos each, from China, delivered across Europe. Over 2 million kilos in total, under rules just as strict and error-prone as those for recovered refrigerant.

We have also spent seven years trading refrigerant import rights across Europe, the UK and the United States. That is exactly the part of the chain where the rules get stricter every year. We now bring that knowledge to the end of the chain: so you can focus on your customers, and we on the rules.

Questions

Short answers to what you want to know.

All questions →

Which refrigerants do you collect?

Most HFCs and HFC blends, such as R404A, R507A, R410A, R134a, R407C, R407F, R448A and R449A. We also accept R22 and other ozone-depleting substances, but these may no longer be used for servicing and go to licensed destruction. If you are unsure about a gas, just ask.

How is the price set?

Every lot is different: gas type, purity, quantity and location set the price. So we look at each lot separately and you know where you stand upfront. We only schedule collection once you agree. Our aim: disposal costs you as little as possible.

Does disposal cost me money?

That depends on the lot. Clean, single-type gas in its own cylinder gets the best terms. We also take mixed or unknown gas, but that may cost money. You always hear that upfront, so there are no surprises.

Is there a minimum quantity?

There is no hard minimum for the Cylinder service. For a one-off pickup, a small lot may be combined with a later route. So very small lots are sometimes collected together with others, to make the pickup worthwhile.

What if the gas is mixed or contaminated?

We still accept it. Mixed gas usually goes to separation or destruction, and that may cost money. We tell you that upfront. Either way, it is disposed of correctly.
